Overview:
Amnesia refers to a loss of the everyday sense of memory responsible for knowing facts, events, information and experiences. It can result from damage to parts of the brain that are vital for memory processing and learning.
Signs and Symptoms:
The main symptoms comprise of imapaired ability to learn new information following the onset of amnesia and or Impaired ability to recall past events and previously familiar information
Causes and Organs Affected:
Brain & Nervous System are affected by this. Amnesia can result from damage to brain structures that form the limbic system, which controls your emotions and memories. These structures, including the hippocampus and thalamus, lie deep within your brain on the underside of the temporal lobe. General causes could be:
Stroke, Brain inflammation, due to viral activity, Lack oxygen to the brain, Accidents & concussions which may cause internal bleeding between the brain and skull and Brain Tumors,
Risk Factor:
The chance of developing amnesia may icrease in terms of head injury, alcohol abuse or brain surgeries
Treatment:
