Bladder Infections

Overview:
Most common form is Cystitis. Mostly caused due to bacterial infection which happens in the Urinary Tract. If not treated properly can lead to a kidney infection.
Signs and Symptoms:
Signs may include the following: Frequent urination with a painful or burning sensation accomapnied with strong odour; Passing small amounts of urine at a time; Discomfort in the pelvic area; In some cases there may be blood accompanied with the urine.
Causes and Organs Affected:
Most cases of cystitis are caused by Escherichia coli (E. coli), a species of bacteria commonly found in the genital area. A new strain of antibiotic-resistant E. coli may be the cause of increasingly hard-to-treat UTIs in women. Organs affected: Bladder; Kidney, Urinary Tract
Risk Factor:
Women are more prone to it. Women who are sexually active tend to have more UTIs, as sexual intercourse can result in bacteria being pushed into the urethra. Using diaphragms increases the risk. Enlarged prostrate in men can cause interference with the urone flow which may lead to an infection.

Treatment:
Cystitis caused by bacterial infection is generally treated with antibiotics. Treatment for noninfectious cystitis depends on the underlying cause.
Other Information:

Lifestyle: Staying hydreated with plenty of water helps to clear the infection.
