Blood Pressure (Low)


Overview: 
Low Blood Pressure (LBP) also called Hypotension.
Signs and Symptoms: 
Low blood pressure can cause dizziness and fainting. Severely low blood pressure can deprive the brain and other vital organs of oxygen and nutrients and lead to shock. Other symptoms may include nausea, blurred vision, fatigue & depression.
Causes and Organs Affected: 
Causes of low blood pressure can vary; Some of the common ones include; Heart problems, Endocrine problems, Dehydration, Allergic reaction, Nutrition deficiency, Side effects from medications.
Risk Factor: 
LBP can happen to anyone, though more common depending on your age or other factors such as family history, underlying medical conditions, other medications;

 

Treatment: 
Depending on the type of LBP Medications such as fludrocortisone, NSAIDs, erythropoietin; Drink more water & consume more salt
Other Information: 

Lifestyle: Increase salt in diet, reduce alcohol & avoid smoking, Avoid stress & maintain a healthy diet.
