Overview:
Urticaria, are patches of raised, red or white itchy wheals. They appear & disappear on their own accord. Chronic hives are defined as hives that last for more than six weeks or the ones that have recurring charcteristic
Signs and Symptoms:
Appearance of small round wheals, rings or large patches. Itching amy be associated with it. They tend to occur in batches & may have a red flare arround them.
Causes and Organs Affected:
It is due to the inflammation of the skin triggered when certain cells release histamine and other chemicals into your bloodstream. Uritcaria is thought to be caused by an immune system (autoimmune) disorder and may be linked to another health problem such as thyroid disease or a blood disorder. Can be caused as a reaction to medication, food, or an infection.
Risk Factor:
More common in women, If hives has occured before they are more prone to it, sensitive to allergic reactions, family history or genetic
Treatment:
Oral antihistamines, Oral corticosteroids, Tricyclic antidepressants, Epinephrine.

Lifestyle: Wear lose clothes, avoid tocuhing or irritating the affected area, keep the area cool with air, cloth or lotion, Relaxing helps soothing the skin
