Overview:
Common warts are skin growths caused by a virus (HPV). This virus causes a rapid growth of cells on the outer layer of the skin
Signs and Symptoms:
Small growths, fleshy, grainy bumps
which are rough to touch usually on hands & fingers. Can be single or multiple. May bleed when picked on. Other locations can be on the foot called Plantar Warts or on the Genetalia called Genital Warts.
Causes and Organs Affected:
Causes: direct contact with the human papillomavirus (HPV). Wart viruses are infectious and can be easily spread by sharing items or just by contact. The risk with common warts is quite small.

Risk Factor:
As the warts shed HPV, new warts may keep appearing. Can be contagious.
