What are psyllium granules, powder, or wafers?
PSYLLIUM (Fiberall®, Konsyl®, Metamucil®, Perdiem®) is a bulk-forming laxative. When taken by mouth, methylcellulose absorbs water in the stomach and intestines, thus regulating the bulk (size), consistency, and movement of the stool. It can treat chronic constipation or chronic diarrhea. Psyllium is available without prescription as granules, powder, or wafers.
